Pousada Obidos

The town is known as the ‘wedding present town’ as the town itself was given by King Dinis to his bride, D. Isabel, on their wedding day in 1282. Since then, the town has been a place of relaxation for the Portuguese monarchy.

This luxury venue is housed within the town’s 12th century medieval castle, which is considered one of the seven marvels of Portugal and is awaiting classification as a ‘World Heritage’ site by UNESCO

Do you allow third party catering service?

Pousada Obidos provides in-house catering & bar services. It is not allowed to contract a third party catering service.

Do you provide furniture?

Tables and chairs of a specific model are provided as part of the package. Should you prefer different models for tables or chairs, these have to be contracted seperately. The same applies to outdoor lighting and/or heaters, which are not standard included.

Do you require a full buy-out and if so, for how many nights minimum?

A full buyout is not mandatory; however, it does affect the time restrictions of the event. Without exclusivity, events are required to conclude by 11 pm.

Can we hire our own vendors?

You have the liberty to engage vendors of your choice for all aspects of the event planning, with the exception of the catering service.
