Do I need a Wedding planner or can I just choose and book a venue and plan my wedding myself?

We would be the last to say that you cannot do without a wedding planner, but you may wish to consider some advice before you decide to start the journey on your own. (Read more).

We have established solid collaborations with all our trusted venue partners, but we do not work on an exclusive base. All venues are independent and so are we. Only in this way we are able to meet your wishes and ideas in full transparency.

We haven´t found our ideal venue on your website. Is your service limited to the venues on your website? Can you show more venues?

Our event and wedding planner service is not limited to the venues on our website. With our venue partnerships, we aim to make the venue search more accessible and transparent, but we are on the road to partner with new hidden gems several times per year. If you haven´t found your venue yet, or you would like to see more wedding venues in Portugal before you make your choice, we are happy to share our recommendations with you.

What is the best time of the year for a celebration or wedding in Portugal?

The wedding season in Portugal typically starts in April and ends in October. Those months are considered high-season months in wedding terms, where consequently prices of venues and vendors will be consistently higher than low-season months. The months during the low season (November until March) may be more advantageous budget-wise. 

If you picture your wedding to be a warm summer outdoor celebration, you can best choose a wedding date in the months of May, June, July, September or October.  Yes, it is missing the month of August, for a very good reason. It is too busy and too hot during the month of August in Portugal. 

I have seen a venue that I like. Can I get a quote?

Absolutely!

However, we rather call it an ´Indication of costs´ than a quote, as we will give you an indication based on ´average´ prices. Especially catering services will be entirely tailored to your wishes, for which a tailored quote will be given after you have made your choices on the menu. 

How do I know which venues will fit our budget?

We have scaled our venues in four levels; from budget-friendly venues to exclusive venues for larger budgets, with the following budget indications* in mind:

  • Budget-friendly venues: based on a minimum budget of € 15.000,-

  • Mid-priced venues: based on a budget between € 15.000,- and € 25.000,- (depending on the number of guests)

  • High-level venues: based on a budget from € 25.000,- onwards

  • Exclusive venues: based on a budget from € 35.000,- onwards

*) Budget indications based on a minimum budget of € 15.000,- and/or 50 wedding guests.

What does a destination wedding in Portugal cost on average?

Budget related questions are one of the most frequently asked questions and we totally understand that. Yet, they never have a straight forward answer, since it highly depends on what you consider to include in your wedding budget, your wedding celebration date and the number of guests, to mention a few. Although Portugal is known as an in-expensive destination, there are several reasons why planning a destination wedding in Portugal is not necessarily cheaper than any other wedding destination.

We rather like to say that you will get much more value for your wedding budget when spent in Portugal. Especially when it comes down to one of the main vendors for your wedding day - your caterer - you will be amazed by the service you will get for comparable prices. And of course, you will not spend just one day, but more likely 2 or 3 days together with your loved ones to create priceless memories that will last a lifetime.

Do you work with a minimum budget?

Yes, we do. For a good reason.

As from our experience, we know that this is the budget you will at least spend for organizing your wedding day in Portugal, including the most common vendors. Therefore we require a minimum wedding budget of € 18.000,-, except for elopements.  (Read more)

You offer an elopement package, but I would prefer a bespoke wedding planning service. Is that possible?

Absolutely! 

Our service is always fully bespoke, but with the convenience and clarity of straight forward, yet fully customizable elopement package. 

We have designed this package to give you instant clarity on budget and prices, but almost all elements from the package for your elopement in Portugal can be upgraded, removed or elements can be added. ​

You are organising small weddings and events. Is there a limit on the number of guests that we can bring? 

We are specialized in organising small events and weddings in Portugal, typically between 60 and 80 guests. But do have all the know-how and experience as well with bigger events and weddings. 
 

What is next, after we have submitted an enquiry to get in contact? 

First of all, we thank you for your contact!

  1. Within 2 working days, we will get back to you with further information on our services and - in case you have requested information on one of our venues - we will send further information on the venue as well. You can expect clear straightforward communication regarding our prices as well. We highly value transparency and don´t want to waste your valuable time in case our pricing doesn´t fit your budget.

  2. Virtual meeting; we offer a free 45-minute consultation to get to know each other and to answer all your questions;

  3. Do we have a chemistry? Wonderful! This is important, as we will closely work together within the next months up to your special date. We find it therefore important that you feel a good connection with us, crucial for a good base of trust.

 

How can we book your service and do you require any payment of deposit?

We are delighted to join you on this very special journey and to welcome you to Portugal. 

To confirm your booking for our services, a booking confirmation will be issued. Together with the signed booking confirmation, we require a downpayment. The amount of the downpayment will depend on the planning time ahead of us and the venue service you may require.  Now we are ready and set to start the pre-wedding fun.

We want to have a Civil Ceremony in Portugal. Can you organize that?

We only organise Symbolic Ceremonies, although it is legally possible to get married officially in Portugal regardless of your residence.

What can we expect from the Wedding planning process?​

You can expect a relaxed and fun journey to your special destination. Wedding Planning is often called a stressful process, but we think different. Easy to use on- and offline planning tools, checklists, great knowledge and clear communication make it possible to keep the wedding planning process as simple and straight forward as possible. 

How much time do we need in advance to organise our celebration in Portugal?

" It takes 40 hours to fly around the world" 

Unless you want to take it to rocket science levels, we advise to start planning your destination wedding in Portugal somewhere between 6 and 12 months. If you have a specific date in mind, especially in high season, you better get your venue booked at least 12-14 months before your wedding date. 

How do we choose the vendors booked within your elopement package?

We’ve already chosen the best vendors for you! When booking your elopement, you are hiring a team of established wedding professionals working together to produce a seamless experience for you.

Over the years we hand-picked a group of reliable suppliers and have been working with these suppliers for every event that we organize. So when you book the elopement package with us, we will assign specific vendors to your wedding based on your requirements, date and location. 

 

I am planning to bring in my own creativity with DIY elements. Is that possible?

We are not a big fan of DIY elements for several reasons. For your own best,  for your Bridal team and for us we say ´no´ to DIY elements. 

  • DIY items are in most cases, not as budget-friendly as we would like to believe. Although DIY items look gorgeous on a Pinterest board, they usually don´t achieve the same effect in reality.

  • The romantic idea of spending a creative afternoon in the Portuguese sun with your sisters, mother, bride maids, often ends up in last-minute stress. You are in Portugal, you are in a holiday-and-love-and-wedding mood, the sun is too hot and the swimming pool is simply irresistible. 

  • In theory, it just takes a few minutes. In reality, it takes tight coordination and organization to avoid that your bridesmaids are still running around with curlers in their hair when your first guests are already arriving. 

We will have wedding personnel. Is that possible?

Of course. 

A few weeks before your celebration we will reach out to your wedding personnel, to finetune the last details with them, to make sure they feel relaxed and comfortable with the planning.

A friend is a photographer/celebrant/beautician and he/she has offered his/her service for our wedding day. Is that possible?

Yes, it is. As long as we are able to get in contact with your photographer/celebrant/beautician to finetune the planning and timeline for your wedding day. 

Of course, the particular vendor service will be removed from your wedding package, or can be substituted with another vendor service, if you like.

T H E  D E S T I N A T I O N 

Will you be present on our wedding day?

When you are planning to invite more than 30 guests to your destination wedding in Portugal, we definitely recommend booking the Coordination for the Day Service in addition. Due to the intimate nature of elopements and small weddings up to 30 guests, having too many people around you can spoil the delicate nature of this private moment, so the day will run without an ‘orchestrator’. However, we are always available on the phone to fix any (highly unlikely) issues! 

What if it rains on our wedding day?

We always have a Plan B in case weather conditions don´t allow an outdoor setting. 

This Plan B will be fine-tuned with you in detail, already during the wedding planning process. So that on your wedding day, we are fully prepared, whether the sun may shine or whether it may rain.
